Course Overview
Sales and Marketing 1 is a strong introductory business course. Students are introduced to a variety of topics throughout the year. Subjects covered include production, distribution, advertising, resume writing, personal finance, interview skills, business ethics, and basic marketing skills. Students learn through a combination of lectures, videos, worksheets, and hands-on projects.
Along with learning basic business knowledge, students prepare for DECA competitive events. Sales and Marketing 1 students may choose to compete in a role play, a thirty page business plan, or both. A large portion of the fall is dedicated to preparing for success at the Area 4 and State DECA competitions. All students attend the Area 4 competition in January, and many qualify for state.
As a general reminder, most assignments, PowerPoints, and study guides are on the documents page.
