It's that time of year again! If you love DECA and want to get more involved, consider running for a Chapter officer position! There are 8 positions total. All information including important dates, written questions, application process, etc. are included in the packet above. Please contact President Lauren Milne, Vice President Grace Chen, or Mr. Shanafelt with any further questions.
Remember, if you are competing in a Role Play (team or individual), Marketing Representative Event, or Professional Selling event, you need to take the Area DECA Test for your Career Cluster.
This test is Proctored, which means a trained adult needs to supervise the test. I am the only one available for that.
I will be administering the test in the Library during class on Tuesday, December 12th. I expect everyone in my classes to take it then.
However, if you are not in my class, or you need more than 55 minutes to take the test, you can take it during one of the following windows:
If you do not take the DECA test during one of those windows, you will score a 0 / 100pts.
Hello friends! Area registration is due to DECA by Wednesday. If you want to compete, make sure you have verified your correct competitive event with Mr. Shanafelt by Tuesday!
We will use turnitin.com to submit each draft of your 30-page paper.
Log in to turnitin.com.
The Class ID is 16545318
The Enrollment Key is "limitless"
All students should register for their DECA competitive events on this google form by Friday, Sept 27th.
As a reminder students in the Sales & Marketing I and AP Economics classes are expected to participate in a Role Play (team or individual) event. If you want to do more, that is great, and will be rewarded! :)
Sales & Marketing II and III students should do two events and an online event.
Please go to https://goo.gl/forms/qCi7DiSeISNI7DXr2 to submit your event.

Please check to make sure I have the correct events for you. Registration closes on Thursday, so we need to update anything this week.
Hello fabulous students!
The best thing you can do to prepare for DECA competitive events is to go to Mentor Nights, Role Play Nights, and Mock Competitions. Each of these events is in the evening, and you will come in to practice your Role Play or get advice on your 30-pager. The Mentors who volunteer their time are all fantastic help for you.
Each of these runs from 6pm to 9pm, but students only come for a 30-60 minute time slot each.
Last year, everyone who made it to ICDC went to at least 2 of these, and most of them went to all of them. Please make it a priority. It is essentially the "practice" of our sport. :)
Here are the dates for the year, put them on your calendar now:
If you wanted to compete in Virtual Business Challenge DECA events (the computer simulator based ones), you need to sign up by Friday. The competition starts on Monday.
